Habitat Restoration Committee
Founded in 2018, the Habitat Restoration Committee aims to remove invasive species and restore our public natural areas. The committee has adopted Frenchtown Conservation Area and is working closely with BREC on this long-term project.
The first step is the eradication Ardisia crenata, known as Christmas Berry or Coral Berry. This non-native invasive species has been identified by BREC Conservation as a priority for removal. The committee is starting with small work groups with the goal of working up to bigger, public work days.
Work Days 2018
The committee is hosting regular work days to cut and bag Ardisia.
